Jack Hannahan Traded for Jason Perry

The Tigers have traded infielder Jack Hannahan to the Oakland Athletics today for outfielder Jason Perry. Hannahan is expected to join the Athletics on Tuesday and Perry will report to Toledo. Perry is a left-handed batter who will turn 27 this Saturday. He batted a combined .265/.372/.525 with 23 homers for AA Midland and AAA Sacramento this year. He is an average defensive outfielder who has also played some first base. He has some power and can draw walks but given his age and inability to make consistent contact, I can't see him making a big impact on the Tigers now or in the future. His left-handedness might help him become a useful bench player at some point though.
