Granderson leads off for Whitecaps

It was dollar hot dog/beer night at Fifth Third Park in Grand Rapids tonight. As a bonus, they were giving away bobble head dolls of two former Whitecaps stars - Cameron Maybin and Gorkys Hernandez. Just a typical night in the Midwest League except for one thing - Curtis Granderson was leading off and playing center field for the Whitecaps. His night went like this:
First inning - singled to second base.
Third inning - flied out to left field
Sixth inning - Tripled to right field
eighth inning - Lined to center field
That's two for four with a triple, much like many of his games with the Tigers last year. His teammates were unable to figure out Burlington Bees starter Alexander Caldera getting only two other hits in a 3-0 loss. However, Curtis was the big attraction tonight.
Grandy will be back in Detroit soon, maybe as early as Monday. Rod Allen just mentioned during tonight's broadcast that the Tigers will evaluate him after three games and make a decision at that time whether he'll need further rehab.
