According to Jason Beck, Miguel Cabrera will miss today's game with a sore quad. Brandon Inge will replace Cabrera at third and Clete Thomas will take over for Inge in center field. The importance of having a good bench is becoming evident pretty quickly this year. While these moves weaken their line-up considerably (hopefully just for one day), they will strengthen the defense behind starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman.
Jim Leyland has also decided to go with Marcus Thames over Jacque Jones (against a right-hander surprisingly). Here is the line-up for today's game:
