Pitches Per Plate Appearance Database

Billfer, at Deroit Tigers Weblog recently took a detailed look at how working deeper into counts influences batter performance. Now, he has provided us with the spreadsheets that produce these charts for each team and each player in 2006. In his earlier work, Billfer discovered that the Tigers do not have as good an on base percentage in longer counts than other teams. Looking at the data quickly, it's hard to find individual culprits (maybe Pudge Rodriguez) but, in general, they did have quite a few players who did not improve as much later in the count compared to the average player
